Ballarat Rotunda, Victoria, Australia
The inscription on the Ballarat Rotunda reads
MEMORIAL to
BANDSMEN of S.S. TITANIC
The memorial can be found in the old mining town of Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. There were three memorials to the bandsmen erected in Australia. They were in Broken Hill, Kadina, near Adelaide in Sth. Australia, and Ballarat. Broken Hill mined zinc Ore, lead and silver; Kadina and Ballarat mined copper and gold respectively. The picture below shows the ornate Titanic wind vane on top of the rotunda. Many thanks to Andrew Rogers for taking these pictures and supplying the background information.
